CALM is a practical, prevention-focused training that teaches participants how to identify and reduce access to lethal means for individuals who may be at risk for suicide. Participants will learn how to have respectful, compassionate conversations about lethal means and develop strategies to increase safety during times of heightened risk.
This training is designed for professionals, caregivers, and community members who may interact with individuals experiencing suicidal thoughts. Participants will gain practical tools and conversation strategies that can be used in healthcare, behavioral health, schools, workplaces, homes, and community settings.

Participants will learn how to recognize when someone may be at increased risk, discuss access to lethal means without judgment, and work collaboratively with individuals and families to create a safer environment. CALM empowers participants with a simple, evidence-informed approach that can help create time and distance between a person in crisis and a potentially lethal method.
